Early life and career

Sundar V. Nadkarni was born in Bankikkodla, a village in coastal Uttar Kannada. He engaged in literature, folk art, music and sports during his school days. Nadkarni's mother was Indira Kaushik from Karwar.

Sundar attended Bankikodla primary school and Anandashram High School, Bankikodla. He had made name in Yakshagana that too in 'stree patra'(Ladies role).Fact|date=September 2008 Sundar was keen to join Kannada films.Fact|date=June 2008 But subsequently changed his mind and continued his studies. Sundar's older brother Mangesh V. Nadkarni and high school teachers Subbanna Ekkundi and Gourish Kaikini influenced him in a way to shape his career.Fact|date=September 2008 Later Nadkarni completed his Postgraduation in English literature and became a professor of English at Anand arts and science college, Anand, Gujarat.Fact|date=September 2008 Later in the year 1985, he earned Ph.D in English from the department of English, Sardar Patel University.Fact|date=September 2008
