Lemire started writing reviews for the AP in 1999.[5] She is currently based in Los Angeles.[6]

In 2003, she was a guest co-host on The View. Lemire made headlines when she and co-host Meredith Vieira engaged in a lesbian kiss[7] in response to the Madonna and Britney Spears kiss at the MTV Video Music Awards.[8][9]

She was named number 93 of the 100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2008 on the 19th Annual Independent Critics List.[10]

Lemire made three appearances substituting for famed film critic Roger Ebert on At the Movies. On September 10, 2010, Ebert announced that he is returning to television on a movie review show that he is producing for public television. He also announced that Lemire along with contributing critic Elvis Mitchell of National Public Radio will be featured on the new program, Ebert Presents at the Movies.[11] In December 2010, it was announced that Mitchell would not be taking part in the program, and Lemire would be joined by film critic Ignatiy Vishnevetsky instead.[12]
