David LodgeMike Got Spiked are an Irish rock band, from Dublin, Ireland, formed in 2002 by Conall McMahon (guitarist/Backing vocals), Jonathan Myles (bassist), Gavin McGuire (vocalist), and David Lodge (drummer/backing vocalist).
Mike Got Spiked has been described as 'blender music' and 'schizo-melody tinged rock' given the wide range of influences the quartet draw on including: Jazz, Funk, Ska, Rock, Punk and Metal
Mike Got Spiked has been influenced by Deftones, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Metallica, Incubus, Ben Folds, Nirvana, NOFX, Mr Bungle, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alice In Chains, Pantera, Faith No More, Slayer and Sepultura.

History
Debut album, 'Caveat Emptor' was recorded from November 2004 to January 2005 in Creamy Sonic Studios in Dublin, Ireland. The album was released in March 2005 and spent a number of weeks in the Irish Charts' top 50.
In June 2006, mike got spiked released the 5-track EP, 'Poetry and Prozak' in association with Irish scene promoters Gigsmart Ireland.
The track ‘Come Dancing’ from aforementioned EP was subsequently used on the Irish Television Network, RTÉs’ promo for the programme ‘The Ex-Files’.
In June 2008, mike got spiked signed with the Los Angeles-based management company, Associated Talent Management.
In October 2009, mike got spiked recorded a live acoustic album at The Cat Club in Hollywood, California. It was released on April 23, 2010.
mike got spiked spent much of March and April 2010 recording their second studio album at Perfect Sound Studios in Hollywood, California. The album was due for a summer 2010 release but has been delayed following the departure of bassist, Jonathan Myles from the band.
As of September 2010, mike got spiked have been without a bassist as Jonathan Myles left to pursue other interests.
The band toured Ireland in January 2011 taking in places such as, Cork, Dundalk, Belfast & Dublin.
Move to America
Buoyed by the reaction to debut album 'Caveat Emptor' as well as the experience on The Vans Warped Tour in Canada in the summer of 2005, mike got spiked left Ireland's limited scene behind in June 2006. In the three years since the relocation, mike got spiked has traveled some 160,000 miles, across 43 states, playing over 400 shows in the process. Record sales, including uncharted sales at gigs, have reached an estimated 11,000 units, while the bands Myspace page has received close to 200,000 plays.
Tours
Debut single, 'All You Need' was released in July 2004 and reached #23 in the Irish Charts. The single was promoted with an intensive 10-day, 19-date tour around Ireland.
In July/August 2005, mike got spiked performed on the Warped Tour in Canada alongside The Offspring, Fall Out Boy, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Dropkick Murphys, My Chemical Romance and Thrice amongst others.
In June 2006, Mike Got Spiked relocated to America and has been touring the United States on and off for the last five years.
Mike Got Spiked have supported Republic Of Loose, Biffy Clyro, Anthrax, Kerbdog and Head Automatica over the years.
They will tour in America in October 2011.

Mike Got Spiked have made four official videos and have performed for live studio recordings. Fans have also submitted videos, recorded and edited for Mike Got Spiked songs.
- 5 Second Heaven (Included as a bonus on the All You Need single).
- All You Need (unreleased), directed by Aoife Kelleher and recorded in Rush.
- Aversion, directed by Aidan Maguire and recorded in Rush. This shoot was delayed due to a breakdown of a vehicle while travelling back from a show to the recording. It took mike got spiked 8 hours to tow it back and so the shoot was not complete until 4 am in the morning.
