United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 5.2square mile s (13.4km² ), all of it land.Louisville is located in Constitution Township, Stark County, Ohio, surrounded by Nimishillen Township in the eastern part of Stark County.
Demographics
As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 8,904 people, 3,444 households, and 2,465 families residing in the city. Thepopulation density was 1,726.6 people per square mile (666.3/km²). There were 3,544 housing units at an average density of 687.2/sq mi (265.2/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.53% White, 0.31% African American, 0.15% Native American, 0.29% Asian, 0.07% from other races, and 0.65% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.83% of the population.There were 3,444 households out of which 35.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.6% were married couples living together, 11.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.4% were non-families. 24.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.54 and the average family size was 3.03.
In the city the population was spread out with 27.1% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 29.7% from 25 to 44, 20.6% from 45 to 64, and 15.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 88.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 84.7 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $41,490, and the median income for a family was $49,844. Males had a median income of $37,625 versus $22,398 for females. The
per capita income for the city was $20,783. About 3.1% of families and 4.0% of the population were below thepoverty line , including 4.5% of those under age 18 and 6.9% of those age 65 or over.References
