United States Census Bureau , the village has a total area of 0.4square mile s (1.0km² ), all of it land.Demographics
As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 1,032 people, 452 households, and 287 families residing in the village. Thepopulation density was 2,795.8 people per square mile (1,076.9/km²). There were 485 housing units at an average density of 1,313.9/sq mi (506.1/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.84% White, 0.39% African American, 0.19% Native American, 0.10% Asian, and 0.48% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.58% of the population.There were 452 households out of which 25.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.8% were married couples living together, 10.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.3% were non-families. 33.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.19 and the average family size was 2.72.
In the village the population was spread out with 19.8% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 27.7% from 25 to 44, 25.3% from 45 to 64, and 20.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 43 years. For every 100 females there were 84.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 83.6 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $33,636, and the median income for a family was $45,729. Males had a median income of $35,804 versus $25,481 for females. The
