Oreini or Orini (Greek: Ορεινή meaning
mountainous ) is a village inGreece in the municipality ofLampeia . Its 2001 population was 189 for the village which making it the most populated place and municipal district in the municipality after its seat Divri (Lampeia). The older name was known as Mostenitsa (Μοστένιτσα) (from "mosten" and "-itsa") and was of Slavic origin. Oreini is built on the slopes of mount Lampeia or Divri.ettlement

Geography
Oreini is located on a mountain range that extends from
Katakolo to southwestern Lasiona. Much of the area are forested to the west and the east, farmlands are within the village area and some valleys.Information
Oreini has approximately 5 to 6 km of paved roads and 10 km of gravel roads. Agia Anna also has approximately 5 to 6 km of hydro lines as well as phone lines.
History
The village dates back to the Slavic origin, it was later ruled by the Franks, Albanians? and the Ottomans. It finally joined the country of
Greece after theGreek War of Independence , it produced a revolutionary leaderTheodoros Papasimakopoulos who battled in Lalas. AfterWorld War II and theGreek Civil War , its houses were rebuilt, but its population left for larger cities of Greece and other parts of the world. Oreini became connected with asphalt in the 1960s. More pavement was accessed in the late 20th century. Electricity, radio and automobiles were introduced in the mid-20th century, television in the late-20th century and computer and internet at the turn of the millennium.Economy
Most of the people are stockbreeders (sheeps ans goats) as are most of the people in the surrounding area,because of the nature of the landscape.Around twenty of its residents live off in agriculture.

Oreini has 4 main churches and several chapels in the surrounding mountains.The most notable church is Agioi Theodoroi,and the most notable chappel is Agios Ioannis.It also has a main square ("
plateia "). Its nearest school, lyceum (middle school) and gymnasium (secondary school) and banks are in Lampeia and its nearby hospital is in Pyrgos.
