United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 0.5square mile s (1.3km² ), of which, 0.5 square miles (1.3 km²) of it is land and 1.92% is water.Demographics

census GR|2 of 2000, there were 580 people, 290 households, and 171 families residing in the city. Thepopulation density was 1,154.2 people per square mile (447.9/km²). There were 329 housing units at an average density of 654.7/sq mi (254.1/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.79% White, 0.86% Native American, 0.17% Asian, and 0.17% from two or more races.There were 290 households out of which 18.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.4% were married couples living together, 2.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 40.7% were non-families. 38.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 25.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.97 and the average family size was 2.57.
In the city the population was spread out with 16.4% under the age of 18, 2.9% from 18 to 24, 22.4% from 25 to 44, 24.8% from 45 to 64, and 33.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 52 years. For every 100 females there were 95.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.0 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $26,618, and the median income for a family was $36,667. Males had a median income of $32,917 versus $17,417 for females. The
