Kent . It is on theMarshlink Line , and train services are provided by Southern. The station is located almost two miles from Appledore village and 14 km (8½ miles) south of Ashford.It is at a junction of a branch line running to Dungeness nuclear power station via Lydd. Appledore is also the start of the single track section of the Marshlink line, which runs through to Ore near
Hastings with a passing loop at Rye.It is one of just two stations in Kent (along with Ham Street) not to be served by Southeastern.
History
Opened by the South Eastern Railway, which then merged with the
London, Chatham and Dover Railway to form theSouth Eastern and Chatham Railway , it became part of the Southern Railway during the Grouping of 1923. The station then passed on to theSouthern Region of British Railways onnationalisation in 1948.When Sectorisation was introduced in the 1980's, the station was served by
Network South East until the Privatisation of British Railways.Name curiosities

National Rail , this station's official name is Appledore (Kent), despite the other Appledore station in Devon having closed in 1917. On official documents and railway company websites, the station is referred to as Appledore (Kent), although most locals know it as just 'Appledore'.Service
Trains are once every 30 mins during the day in each direction and run to Hastings and Ashford International trains in the direction of Hastings run to/from Brighton via Lewes and Eastbourne. The hourly Brighton service is supplemented by a shuttle service between Hastings and Ashford.
