The airline was established in
1998 and operated asAir Bisec , before changing its name to Georgian National Airlines. A Bombardier CRJ 200 aircraft (formerly ofIndependence Air ) was delivered on29 July 2006 , but did not enter scheduled service until6 September 2006 following crew training.In April of 2008, the airline returned its CRJ200 to the lessor, and acquired a wet-leased DC-9 for its operations.
