Unity in diversity

Unity in diversity is a a socio-ecological philosophy that describes a sense of oneness despite physical or psychological barriers.

India

The phrase is widely used to describe India, which is home to a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual and multi-religious society. The subcontinent's long and diverse history has given it a unique eclectic culture. Unity in diversity is the official motto of the following: European Union (see Symbols of Europe#Motto), Ghana, Indonesia (see Bhinneka Tunggal Ika), Papua New Guinea and South Africa.
