Southend East is a railway station in Southend-on-Sea on the London, Tilbury and Southend Railway which was opened in 1884. It has two through platforms, Platform 1 for trains to London Fenchurch Street and Platform 2 for trains to Shoeburyness railway station, and one disused bay platform. Train services are provided by the National Express Group train operating company c2c.

In April 2006, it was renamed "c2c Rail Southend East for Southchurch Village" to better reflect its geographical location in the Southchurch area which it serves. On May 24, 2006, a £425,000 refurbishment programme was completed at the station, providing level access to the London-bound platform, as well as new toilets, baby changing facilities, a redecorated waiting room with CCTV, and a self service ticket machine. Ticket Office

The ticket office, located on Platform 1 for trains to London Fenchurch Street, has one serving position and uses the TRIBUTE ticket issuing system.
