United Nations Security Council Resolution 306

In 1971 this UN Resolution recommened that Kurt Waldheim be appointed to Secretary-General. He was appointed for a five year term starting 1 January 1972 [ [http://www.un.org/Overview/SG/sg4bio.html Kurt Waldheim (Austria) ] ] .

Actual Text of the resolution

United Nations Security Council Resolution 306, adopted on December 21, 1971, having considered the question of the recommendation for the appointment of the Secretary-General of the United Nations the Council recommended to the General Assembly the Mr. Kurt Waldheim be appointed.
