"Mei Lanfang" is an upcoming 2008 Chinese biographical film directed by Chen Kaige; it will be Chen's 11th feature film. The film will follow the life of Mei Lanfang, one of China's premiere opera performers. It is tentatively set to star Hong Kong actor Leon Lai and Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi.

Production

The film is currently being produced on a budget of $15 million (US) by the China Film Group and Taiwan's China Magnetics Corp.
