It is located in Chelsea, Massachusetts, between North Station and River Works on the Newburyport/Rockport Line.[1]
Chelsea Station opened Nov. 29, 1985, after the city had been without train service since 1958.[2]
Future plans
Chelsea Station is a proposed stop on the MBTA's planned Urban Ring Project.[3] The Urban Ring will be a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Line designed to connect the current MBTA Lines to reduce strain on the downtown stations.
