Pete Stringfellow

Pete Stringfellow (born June 3, 1972) is an American singer, songwriter and performer in the music and movie industry. Also known as the "Wine Country Boy". PETE coined the phrase "Funktry", which describes combining country music with funk.

Biography

Stringfellow was raised in Santa Rosa, California, where he graduated from Piner High School in 1990. [cite news |first=Christ |last=Smith |title=Identity? At least SR has its own song |work=Santa Rosa Press Democrat |date=2007-06-19 |quote=Pete Stringfellow, the Piner High Class of 1990 grad with all the makings of a heartthrob country music star, will bring along his six-string for a performance today at City Hall. ] After earning his AA degree in Music at Santa Rosa Junior College, he graduated Suma Cum Laude from California State University, Chico where he earned his BA in Music, BA in Recording Arts and MA in Interactive Multimedia.

Immediately out of college, PETE signed his first record contract with Classified Records as a songwriter, producer and recording engineer. He moved to Nashville in 1997 to get closer to his musical inspirations, returning to his hometown of Santa Rosa in 2002. Currently, he goes back-and-forth to and from Nashville, working on a variety of creative projects in the music and movie industries.

While PETE is best known as a country artist, he has written and produced original songs for over 70 movies and television shows, including Meet the Parents, Matchstick Men, Next Friday, The Simpsons, Judging Amy and CSI: Miami. He's also worked on new media projects for recording artists such as Rascal Flatts, Reba McEntire, Lee Ann Womack and Terri Clark.

In 2001 PETE partnered with Robert Frist, Jr. to form Creative Destiny, LLC in Nashville, TN, which focuses on music publishing and production.

PETE won the prestigious DisCovery Award by Robert K. Oermann in Music Row Magazine in 2006. His ode to his hometown, "Santa Rosa", first played on the radio in November 2006 and continues to get extensive airplay on radio stations all along the west coast.
