McKenna Faith

McKenna Faith

McKenna Faith is a 16 year-old country music singer/songwriter from Ukiah, CA. [1][2] She grew up in the rodeo circuit, where she traveled to the World Barrel Racing Finals. At one point she was 1/10th of a second from winning a Dodge truck.[3] Singing since she was a little girl, she began to sing the National Anthem before racing, and eventually played her original songs during half-time shows. Before many races, she was asked to sing the national anthem. She gave up barrel racing to focus on her singing career.[4]

In October 2010, McKenna traveled to Nashville, Tennessee where she worked with producer Kim Copeland and recorded her debut album of 10 original songs, called Sugar & Spice.[5][6]

Her album release party in Sebastopol, CA was a sold-out show, and over 100 people had to be turned away at the door.[7] She continues to tour, playing at many venues throughout California.

On August 21, 2011 McKenna and other local singer Pete Stringfellow opened the Sonoma Country Music BBQ in Santa Rosa, California, playing with country music superstars Dierks Bentley, Thompson Square and Luke Bryan to a crowd of more than 7,500 people.[8]

In December 2011, she will perform at the 70th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on site in Hawaii. She will debut her song, “No Guts, No Glory,” which was written in honor of American troops, as well as "Not My Time to Go,” a song honoring John Finn, a soldier who was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions at Pearl Harbor. Finn died in 2010 at the age of 100.[9]
