Tarnov is a village in Platte County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 63 at the 2000 census.

Geography

Tarnov is located at coor dms|41|36|54|N|97|30|11|W|city (41.614893, -97.503162)GR|1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.0 square miles (0.1 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 63 people, 24 households, and 15 families residing in the village. The population density was 2,117.5 people per square mile (810.8/km²). There were 31 housing units at an average density of 1,041.9/sq mi (399.0/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 100.00% White.

There were 24 households out of which 37.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.0% were married couples living together, 12.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.5% were non-families. 29.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.63 and the average family size was 3.33.

In the village the population was spread out with 30.2% under the age of 18, 12.7% from 18 to 24, 27.0% from 25 to 44, 20.6% from 45 to 64, and 9.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 117.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 120.0 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $29,375, and the median income for a family was $31,250. Males had a median income of $27,813 versus $22,083 for females. The per capita income for the village was $10,014. There were 14.3% of families and 14.5% of the population living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and 100.0% of those over 64.
