WCQS FM 88.1 is a listener-supported public radio station based in Asheville, North Carolina. Licensed to Western North Carolina Public Radio in Asheville, North Carolina, USA along with a number of broadcast translators in surrounding communities, the station serves western North Carolina.

The station has several broadcast translators assigned to it:
*W209AD, 89.7 in Clyde, etc., since 1987
*W209AE, 89.7 in Cullowhee, etc., since 1986
*W218AB, 91.5 in Sylva, since 1987
*W218AD, 91.5 in Brevard, since 1989
*W237AR, 95.3 in Hazelwood, etc. (also Cherokee), since 1992 :(original permit as W214AI 90.7 in 1990; Hazelwood is now part of Waynesville)
*W298AY, 107.5 in Black Mountain, since 2007
*W250AN, 97.9 in Tryon, since 2007

One fully-licensed WNCPR station also simulcasts as a rebroadcaster: WFQS FM, 91.3 in Franklin, since 1989. Two translator stations are assigned to it:

*W269AY, 101.7 in Highlands (also Cashiers), since 1997
*W234AS, 94.7 in Bryson City, since 2006

WYQS FM, 90.5 in Mars Hill was assigned from Mars Hill College in 2004, and is now used as a separate station as of 2008, airing public radio programming not heard elsewhere in the area. This station's transmitter was relocated to Big Knob after the Madison County, North Carolina Board of Commissioners voted to allow space to be leased on the tower there. WYQS is also heard on the second HD Radio channel for WCQS. ["New Radio Station to Serve Areas in Madison, North Buncombe," "Asheville Citizen-Times", November 17, 2007.] [Tony Kiss, "New Radio Station on the Air," "Asheville Citizen-Times", October 1, 2008.]

There are applications for a translator in Hendersonville for WCQS. There were also applications for translators in Balsam and Asheville, presumably also for WCQS.

WCQS can also be heard via cable FM on 104.5 in Asheville and 90.7 in Brevard.
