The M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) is an engineering college in India located in Bangalore. MSRIT is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University.

History

MSRIT was the first institute started by the Gokula Education Foundation in 1962, by Sri. M. S. Ramaiah. Since then, it has increased in size and stature, and now offers a wide variety of courses like B. E. in 12 areas, B.Arch., M. Tech. in 8 areas, M.Sc (Engg) by research, MCA, MBA & Ph.D. MSRIT was originally affiliated to Mysore University and later with the Bangalore University (until 2002). It is now affiliated to Visveswaraiah Technological University, Belgaum. It is an institutional member of the ISTE and is recognised by the AICTE. It has been certified and has been accredited by NBA. MSRIT is one the institutes to be funded under TEQIP (Technical Education Quality Improvement Program) by World Bank.

From Aug 2007, MSRIT has been academically autonomous. While VTU will still award the degrees, MSRIT is free to set it own syllabus and conduct evaluation all by itself.

Alumni

MSRIT has an alumni network scattered across the globe. The official Alumni Association of MSRIT is housed within the campus. The Association conducts annual get-together programs. It has also taken up various other activities like Scholarship for meritorious students and Book-Bank programs.

The informal alumni association is present in cities like New York, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, London, UAE, Sydney and Tokyo.
