George Dadamo

George Dadamo (born November 3, 1953 in Windsor, Ontario) is a politician in Ontario, Canada. He served as a New Democratic Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1990 to 1995.

Dadamo worked in radio before entering politics, and was an employee of CKLW/CKWW in Windsor, CKCK in Regina, Saskatchewan and CHNL in Kamloops, British Columbia between 1973 and 1989. He is also a former member of the Canadian Auto Workers union. He first ran for the Ontario legislature in the 1987 provincial election, finishing a close second to incumbent Liberal Bill Wrye in the riding of Windsor—Sandwich.

The NDP won an unexpected majority government in the 1990 provincial election, and Dadamo defeated Wrye by 4,145 votes in a rematch from 1987. He served as parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Transportation for most of the parliament which followed.

Dadamo did not seek re-election in the 1995 provincial election, and has not sought a return to provincial politics since that time. He did run unsuccessfully for Windsor City Council in 1997 in Ward 2 (west Windsor) [http://elections.citywindsor.ca/electionresults/1997ElectionResults.pdf] .
