Missouri College is a for-profit college located in metropolitan St. Louis, Missouri, and founded in 1963. The school is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology. Missouri College offers Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration: Business Management, Business Administration: Healthcare Management and Digital Animation and Specialized Associate degrees in Business Administration, Medical Billing and Coding and Medical Massage Science. The school also offers Dental Assistant, Massage Therapy and Medical Assistant diplomas.[1] The school is accredited by a national accrediting agency meaning that degrees and credits earned may not transfer to a traditional four-year university.

History

Missouri College was founded by Dr. S.L. Gilberg, D.D.S., in 1963. It was originally named the Missouri School for Doctors’ Assistants in Clayton, Missouri. Gilberg was the executive director until 1966. The school introduced a Dental Assistant program in 1969. A year later, the college became accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology. Missouri moved to Manchester Road in 1971. In 1989, Missouri added a Computer Office Assistant program to its new business division. The school was also approved to grant degrees in 1993. In 1995, the school changed its name from the Missouri School for Doctors’ Assistants to Missouri College. Missouri College currently resides In Brentwood, MO off of Hanley Rd.

The school expanded its curriculum in 1999 when it added a Massage Therapy Program and again in 2000 with the introduction of an Information Technology Program. Missouri College was acquired by Career Education Corporation in September 2002.[2]

Campus

The campus of Missouri College in Brentwood, MO consists of one building on the side of a parking garage. The campus offers classrooms, offices, a student lounge, and a library. Parking is available for students and faculty. Surrounding the campus is a Massage Luxe directly below the school, a Mai Lee restaurant below the parking garage, a Shell gas station across the street, and a McDonalds and Lions Choice across the parking lot beside the parking garage. The campus is also located near the Brentwood Metro Station off of Hanley Rd.[2]

Missouri College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT).[3]
