Cynthia Moore Chestnut (born July 25, 1949) in Tallahassee, Florida.

Chestnut was a Representative in the House of Representatives of the U.S. state of Florida. She received her Bachelors degree from the Florida A & M University in 1970, Masters degree from Florida State University in 1971, and her Doctorate from Nova University in 1981. Currently she is the Director of Shands Eastside Community Relations and Education Coordination, while also holding the position of Alachua County Commissioner until November 2010. Still residing in Gainesville, she has one son Christopher Moore Chestnut, Esquire.
