Sisi Wang

Sisi Wang (born 1983) is a Chinese-born Canadian fashion model. She is best known for her participation during the first cycle of "Canada's Next Top Model" in 2006.

Biography

Personal life

Wang was born in China and moved to Canada when she was 14. She now resides in Vancouver, British Columbia. Wang has a twin sister, who is often mistaken for Sisi despite the different appearance. She supports the Liberal political party. Wang is currently attending Simon Fraser University majoring in communications.

Career

Wang was discovered at the age of 16 by a modeling scout, and signed with Liz Bell Agency in Vancouver, British Columbia. At 18, She moved to NYC to pursue modeling and was sent to Milan, Italy for work. She then traveld to Paris and London before returning home, Wang won 4th place in the "Worldwide Asian Supermodel Contest 2001" in Atlantic City. In 2005 Wang was selected to compete in the "2005 New Silk Road Model Look Competition" where she was the second runner up. The following year Wang competed in cycle one of "Canada's Next Top Model". After the show Wang signed to Elmer Olsen Model Management in Toronto, Ontario. She has modeled for "KMS Hair", "Aldo", "Bootlegger", "Mademoiselle", "Italian Donna", "Italian Yes", "Banana", "QSF", "Blink", "Toronto Fashion Week", "BC Translik", "Samsung", "Converse" and "Bental". She is still signed to her first agency Liz Bell.

Wang began acting in 1999 by appearing in a "Clairol" commercial. Since then she has appeared in an additional four TV adverts. As well as appearing in four TV shows and films.

For the past few years Wang has written a style type blog for the North American version of "NewYou Magazine".

During "Top Model"

Sisi was an early frontrunner on the first season of Canada's Next Top Model, wowing the judges with her variety of poses, consistently gorgeous photos and quirky personality. Her strong portfolio enabled her to make it to the final three, allowing her to shoot a CoverGirl commercial with other finalists Alanna Shelast and Andrea Muizelaar. Sisi was ultimately eliminated, however, as the judges felt she was no longer at the top of her game and the other girls had caught up to her. Sisi expressed no regrets, having had fun in the competition and enjoying her reputation as 'Canada's next quirkiest model'.
