Christi Daugherty

Christi Daugherty is an American journalist and author. She was born in Dallas, Texas and was raised in Houston, Texas.

After starting her career as a crime reporter in South Texas, she worked as a staff writer for various news organisations, including The Dallas Morning News and Reuters.

In the 1990s, Daugherty moved to New Orleans where she worked as a freelance investigative journalist. She achieved local and national notoriety for a series of articles about environmental and political issues, particularly the controversy over a planned chemical plant in Convent, Louisiana. Her work in this field received widespread acclaim, and her articles were the basis for the 2001 film, Taking Back Our Town.

She has since moved to the UK, where she continues to work as an author and journalist. Her work has appeared in The New York Times and the Financial Times. In addition, she has written a number of travel books - typically characterised by a cynical but witty attitude towards international tourism - most notably for the US company, Frommers and the British company Time Out.

She has made several appearances on television and radio in the US and the UK, usually as a pundit or guest contributor to news programmes. These include Channel 4 News, BBC Radio and The Geraldo Rivera Show. She was also a guest expert on one episode of The Hotel Inspector.

She resides in Surrey, England with her husband, the director, Jack Jewers.

According to her official website, "needless to say, she is writing a novel."
