The Athol Public Library in Athol, Massachusetts, was established in 1882 with 1,063 books and $300. [ [http://www.athollibrary.org/library.htm Library History] ] The library was rebuilt in 1918 with private donations. It was the first building in Athol to have air conditioning as of 1969.
