United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 2.3square mile s (6.0km² ), of which, 1.5 square miles (3.9 km²) of it is land and 0.8 square miles (2.1 km²) of it (34.76%) is water.Demographics
As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 1,872 people, 815 households, and 567 families residing in the city. Thepopulation density was 1,230.3 people per square mile (475.5/km²). There were 970 housing units at an average density of 637.5/sq mi (246.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.86% White, 0.21% African American, 0.59% Native American, 0.16% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, and 1.12% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.34% of the population.There were 815 households out of which 26.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.4% were married couples living together, 5.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.4% were non-families. 24.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.30 and the average family size was 2.71.
In the city the population was spread out with 19.6% under the age of 18, 4.8% from 18 to 24, 27.8% from 25 to 44, 34.9% from 45 to 64, and 12.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females there were 103.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 103.8 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $65,750, and the median income for a family was $72,500. Males had a median income of $50,991 versus $35,774 for females. The
per capita income for the city was $38,125. About 2.8% of families and 4.3% of the population were below thepoverty line , including 9.3% of those under age 18 and 2.5% of those age 65 or over.Lake Lotawana is home for one of it's middle schools, and WOF contestent Allison Racey (Who Works As A 6th Grade Middle School History Teacher) Who apperently missed the $100,000 in the bonus round by HALF-A-SECOND, and where she screamed in agony as well during season 25 of WOF which aired on Tuesday March 11, 2008.
