Adenosine A2b receptor

Adenosine A2b receptor

The adenosine A2b receptor, also known as ADORA2B, is an adenosine receptor, and also denotes the human gene incoding it.cite web | title = Entrez Gene: ADORA2B adenosine A2b receptor| url = http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=136| accessdate = ]

Mechanism

This integral membrane protein stimulates adenylate cyclase activity in the presence of adenosine. This protein also interacts with netrin-1, which is involved in axon elongation.

Gene

The gene is located near the Smith-Magenis syndrome region on chromosome 17.cite web | title = Entrez Gene: ADORA2B adenosine A2b receptor| url = http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=136| accessdate = ]
