Biography

Since the release of her independent debut album Let the Candle Burn in 2000, Brown has performed at music venues throughout North America. She remained in the top ten of R&B Artists on the internet's most recognized Indie charts (such as Mp3.com, Soundclick, Billboard TalentNet, Broadjam, Artistlaunch, Amazon.com (MP3),CNET Music Download, Besonic, Dmusic, GarageBand.com etc.) from 2001–2004 and gained a loyal following of fans. Her single Run Away was featured along with songs from major-Label artists in Promo-Only's Rhythm Radio series. Her songs have been played on online and commercial radio world-wide.

Billboard Magazine noted her as one of the top ten emerging talents (Top Emerging Talents Billboard Magazine 02/03/01 pg. 30 & Top Emerging Talents Billboard Magazine 03/03/01 pg. 15.) Music from her debut album has been licensed to film and television (HBO, NBC, Paramount Pictures, VH1, and MTV) and international companies (Colgate) for advertisements. Her track Confused received an honorable-mention in the 2001 Billboard Song contest. Let the Candle Burn won the Just Plain Folks Music Organization award for Best R&B Song of 2001.[1] The album was runner-up for JPF's Best R&B Album 2001.[2]

After taking some time off from touring to rest, Brown returned to the studio to record the 2003 Christmas album A Cool Christmas, a ten-song R&B/pop-influenced collection of holiday favorites.

Spring 2004 saw the U.S. release of Brown's singles "I Wonder" and "Queen of Me". The songs were successful, and in July 2004 "Queen of Me" was released by AVEX Records, Japan on Soul Essentials 7, together with songs by Rahsaan Patterson, Earth Wind & Fire, and others.

Natalie Brown announced on her website and myspace that her 2nd album of original material (originally titled 'Polyphony') will be released June 24 and is titled "Random Thoughts." A clip of a new song, "You're Mysterious" can be heard on her sites.

After an initial release set for "Random Thoughts" (formerly called "Polyphony") for April of 08, it was bounced to the Summer however that proposed date was postponed due to "stock-related issues" as the album allegedly sold more in its pre-order phase than demand could fulfill. An October 14 date was set for the itunes, however that did not pan out however the album is available from Amazon.com as of late January 2009. Ms. Brown is planning the release of her fan-funded new release "The Relationship Odyssey" described as the first in the genre of neo-electro-soul chillout. The album is due by June 21, 2011 and will also sport a live CD. Brown is currently updating fans of on the evolution of the set at http://www.natalie-brown.com and through her youtube page. It is believed Jeremy Rwaakara is producing once again.
