Scat Air (PLL Scat Aircompany) is an airline based in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. It operates services to all major cities of Kazakhstan and to neighbouring countries. Its main base is Shymkent Airport, with hubs at Oral Ak Zhol Airport, Aqtau Airport, Astana International Airport, Atyrau Airport, Qyzylorda Airport and Almaty International Airport Flight International 12-18 April 2005] .

History

The airline was established and started operations in 1997. It is owned by Vladimir Denissov (53%) and Vladimir Sytnik (47%) .

Destinations

As of March 2007 Scat Air operates services to the following destinations :
*Domestic scheduled destinations: Aqtau, Aqtöbe, Almaty, Astana, Atyrau, Kostanai, Qyzylorda, Petropavl, Shymkent (Hub), Oral and Öskemen.
*International scheduled destinations: Astrakhan, Baku, Ölgii, Mineralnye Vody, Dushanbe, Tashkent, Urumqi and Yerevan.

Fleet

As of August 2006 the Scat Air fleet includes [Flight International, 3-9 October 2006] :

*20 Antonov An-24
*7 Antonov An-148 (on order)
*1 Yakovlev Yak-42
*2 BAC One-Eleven 500 (leased)

In April 2007 Scat Air introduced a BAC One-Eleven 500 to its fleet for services between Shymkent, Astana and Almaty. It has been wet leased from local charter airline Trast Aero. All others "Antonov An-24" of SCAT have codes beginning with UN, the registration code of Kazakhstan. A further One-Eleven (EX-086) was wet leased from Trast Aero in June 2007. Both are ex-TAROM aircraft.
