- Sin Ansan Line
The Sin Ansan Line (meaning "New Ansan Line") is the tentative name of a
commuter rail line that will eventually linkCheongnyangni Station with western Gyeonggi province, passing through key areas of the Seoul metropolitan area, includingYeouido ,Yeongdeungpo andGwangmyeong Station .Since this line is still in the planning stages, there are many possible routes on which this line could be laid, with the only definite section between Sinpung and
Gwangmyeong Station . In particular, the section south of Gwangmyeong Station has led to heated disputes between the cities ofAnsan andSiheung .Ansan has requested for the line to be built almost perfectly south from Gwangmyeong Station so it terminates at Hanyang University at Ansan, passing through Seongpo-dong on the way. This would also open the possibilities for the trains on this line to travel to Suwon via the
Suin Line . The consortium behind the construction of the Sin Ansan Line, however, seems to favor a line running southwest from Gwangmyeong Station and joining the Sosa-Wonsi Line, transferring with Line 4 and theSuin Line atGongdan Station and terminating at southwestern Ansan. The city of Siheung has recently made a shocking request, in which the section in dispute does not pass through the city of Ansan at all, making the name "Sin "Ansan" Line" meaningless. The Siheung plan has the section go west from Gwangmyeong Station, intersect the Sosa-Wonsi Line at Siheung City Hall, and terminating atWolgot Station .The original plans had the line follow this route: "(SW) - Yeongdeungpo - Yeongdeungpo Market - National Assembly - Gwangheungchang - Sinchon - (NE)". Recent plans, however, indicate another possible route with less stations: "(SW) - Yeongdeungpo - Yeouido - Sinchon - (NE)". The list of stations below reflects the original plans of this section, but is very likely to change.
Initial maps of Line 10 - the forerunner of this line - also showed that the line could, instead of going through "Sinchon - Dongnimmun - Hyehwa", pass through "Gongdeok - Seoul Station - Dongdaemun Stadium". However, following the restoration of the Cheonggye Stream, under which Line 10 was to be laid, the former route seems much more likely.
The first section of this line (Gwangmyeong Station - Yeouido) is set to be opened in 2011; the other sections will be opened subsequently.

NOTE: This is a tentative list of stations; most of the stations on the list are subject to sudden and drastic change. The section south of Gwangmyeong Station has not been included due to the severity of the dispute.
NOTE: Stations between Gwangheungchang and Sinpung may be changed to the following alternate route:
