Though born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Bruce was raised in Seattle, Washington. He launched his career by modeling in Seattle through Seattle Models Guild. On November 10, 2004, he appeared on the cover of Daily Variety (USA).
In 2005, Bruce landed his first television role as the title character, CTU agent Martin Kail, of 24: Conspiracy, the spin-off of the television series 24. The show was cancelled after one season. That same year, he guest-starred for two episodes on the American daytime soap opera, Passions, as Edna's dream guy. He also appeared as a waiter on the television sitcom, Joey. In 2006, he appeared as a doorman on The Sopranos and as Shannen's boyfriend on the reality series, Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty. He appeared as Sam Marquez's secretary, Anthony, in 2007. He also appeared a young man in an episode of CSI: NY.
In 2008, Bruce landed his most notable role to date, in the contract role of Chris Hughes, on the American daytime drama, As the World Turns. Bruce became the eighth actor to play the role, succeeding Bailey Chase, who played the role from January 29, 2003 to January 20, 2005. Bruce made his debut on October 25, 2007. In August 2008, it was announced that Bruce was downgraded to recurring status. He made his final appearance on October 15, 2008.
Bruce is set to star in the new online web-series, The Bay, as Brian Nelson.
