Tooting railway station is in the London Borough of Merton in South London. The station is served by First Capital Connect trains, and is on the Thameslink loop. It is in Travelcard Zone 3.

The station opened in 1894 as 'Tooting Junction', replacing an early Tooting Junction station slightly further West that dated from 1868. It was renamed simply 'Tooting' in the 1940s, following the closure of the branch line from Tooting to Merton Park to passenger traffic in 1929, although the use of the 'Junction' suffix continues to this day.

Services

The typical off-peak service from the station is 2 trains per hour to St Albans via Herne Hill and London Blackfriars (clockwise around the loop) and 2 trains per hour to Sutton via Wimbledon (anticlockwise).
