World Amateur Championships Silver 2009 Milan Light Flyweight Bronze 2011 Baku Light Flyweight European Amateur Championships Gold 2006 Plovdiv Light Flyweight David Valeryevich Ayrapetyan (Russian: Давид Валерьевич Айрапетян; born October 26, 1983 in Baku) is a Russian-Armenian amateur boxer. He is best known for having won the European title at light flyweight in 2006, and a silver medal at the 2009 World Amateur Boxing Championships.
Career
In 2006 and 2007, the southpaw beat the highly-decorated veteran Sergey Kazakov at the Russian Championships.
At the World Championships 2007 he beat Pal Bedak (27-18) but ran into defending and future champ Zou Shiming and lost 23-6.
At the 2008 Olympics he was upset in the first round by Georgiy Chygayev, he didn't participate in the Euros 2008.
At the World Champs 2009 he lost the final to Mongolian Serdamba Purevdorj.
