2008 Olympic Games , he won China's 50th gold medal by winning the final light flyweight boxing event and it was China's first boxing gold medal in Olympic history. His opponent in the final bout was forced to retire due to a shoulder injury. After his opponent Serdamba was not able to continue the bout, Zou burst into tears.
