Canonbury railway station is in the
London Borough of Islington inNorth London . It is on theNorth London Line , and the station and all trains serving it are operated byLondon Overground . It is inTravelcard Zone 2 . From 1850 until 1934 the next station eastwards was Mildmay Park. The line ran between Richmond and
Broad Street . Between 1934 and 1986, after Midmay Park closed, the next station along wasDalston Junction .In 1986 the service to Broad Street was cut, instead Canonbury became part of a new service the
North London Line which connected Richmond to North Woolwich.In 2007 there were extensive refurbishments to the ticket office.

The typical service at the station is 4 trains per hour westbound to Richmond via Highbury, Camden Town and Willesden, and 4 trains per hour eastbound to Stratford via Hackney.
Canonbury will be served by the phase one East London Railway service in 2011.
Future
From 2011 the
East London Line trains will call at this station as part of the line's northern extension to Highbury and Islington. There will be a doubling of the track along this route, and extensive remodelling of the stations.References
