U.S. state ofMichigan . The population was 389 at the 2000 census. It is located in the northeastern corner of Elmwood Township.Gagetown is northeast of the Saginaw metropolitan area as well as the village of Caro; two major economic hubs in the region that link Gagetown with the rest of the world.

As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 389 people, 154 households, and 103 families residing in the village. Thepopulation density was 406.3 per square mile (156.5/km²). There were 167 housing units at an average density of 174.4/sq mi (67.2/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 91.52% White, 1.03% Native American, 0.77% Asian, 2.83% from other races, and 3.86% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 7.20% of the population.There were 154 households out of which 32.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.4% were married couples living together, 13.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.5% were non-families. 26.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.52 and the average family size was 3.00.
In the village the population was spread out with 29.0% under the age of 18, 5.9% from 18 to 24, 28.5% from 25 to 44, 20.3% from 45 to 64, and 16.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 102.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.7 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $28,750, and the median income for a family was $34,444. Males had a median income of $26,354 versus $20,500 for females. The
per capita income for the village was $14,165. About 11.7% of families and 14.9% of the population were below thepoverty line , including 16.3% of those under age 18 and 6.6% of those age 65 or over.References
