Ross University School of Medicine (RUSOM) is a medical school located in Dominica. It grants the Doctor of Medicine degree after 4 years of study. It also has does not grant credit hours for classes spanning more than one semester. Four semesters are spent on the island of Dominica, which will soon have a branch in the Bahamas (January 2009). The fifth semester classes are held either in Dominica, Michigan, or Florida. Students are required to take shelf exams in the second, third, and fourth semesters.
In July 2008 Ross University announced the opening of a campus in Grand Bahama.
