how format

Kfm Breakfast runs for three hours, with news read half-hourly in both English and Afrikaans between 06h00 and 09h00. Sports is read on the half-hour between 07h00 and 09h00.

The show is well-known for its daily features:
*Random Acts of Kindness, surprising unsuspecting listeners by paying their bills, handing out free merchandise or concert tickets. The station set aside the 2007 winter solstice as its first annual Random Acts of Kindness Day. Listeners were invited to donate to homeless shelters in preparation for the upcoming winter months. *GK Elite, where call-in contestants go head-to-head, given 60 seconds each to answer as many general knowledge questions as possible. A monthly leaderboard charts the daily contestants' success, and the months' winners face each other in a R200,000 (±US$30,000) showdown at the end of the season. The 2007 winner, announced on 7 November, was Reddam House teacher Bridget Bertram.
