census GR|2 of 2000, there were 770 people, 275 households, and 213 families residing in the township. Thepopulation density was 21.2 per square mile (8.2/km²). There were 326 housing units at an average density of 9.0/sq mi (3.5/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 97.66% White, 0.39% Native American, 0.26% from other races, and 1.69% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.78% of the population.There were 275 households out of which 34.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.9% were married couples living together, 10.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.5% were non-families. 19.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.80 and the average family size was 3.24.
In the township the population was spread out with 27.1% under the age of 18, 9.4% from 18 to 24, 26.4% from 25 to 44, 26.1% from 45 to 64, and 11.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 102.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.8 males.
