Common Market is the self-titled debut from Seattle-based hip-hop duo Common Market. The album was produced by Sabzi, who is also a member of another prominent Seattle hip-hop group, Blue Scholars.

The album was originally released in the Seattle area in 2005. It was later released on a national scale in 2006, with revised cover art.

The final track of the album is a remixed version of a Blue Scholars song from their 2005 The Long March EP. The track features vocals by RA Scion, Geologic of Blue Scholars, and Gabriel Teodros of Abyssinian Creole.

Lyrical References/Influences

-The song G'Dang Diggy is a reference to a famous New York Rap Battle involving KRS-One of Boogie Down Productions.

-The song My Pathology could be a reference to the Boogie Down Productions song "My Philosophy".

-The song "Doors" samples train sounds, similar to those at the start of the NaS album Illmatic. It also contains a reference to "La Rock", referring to Scott La Rock, the producer of Boogie Down Productions. Doors also contains the line "‘My Philosophy’ was born in a ‘New York State of Mind’", referring to both a Boogie Down Productions song, and a NaS song off of Illmatic. The end of the song includes a reference to the Boogie Down Productions song "South Bronx".
