Harrison Township covers an area of 23.89 square miles; 0.33 square miles (1.38 percent) of this is water. There are two major lakes: Grandview Lake is partially in Harrison Township and partially in Jackson Township; and Harrison Lake is completely in Harrison Township. Many other smaller laker are situated around the township.

Cemeteries
The township contains two cemeteries: Haislup and Lawton. There are many more small cemeteries scattered around the county. Most of these have illegible grave markers and maintenance of the sites falls under the jurisdiction of the Harrison Township Trustee; currently this is David Dwyer.

Not having a town, Harrison Township provides many of its own services or contracts them out. Currently residents have either Southwest Water Company supply water or have local wells. Electricity is provided by Duke, cable television by Comcast, and high-speed cable Internet access by Comcast.
Fire protection is provided by Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Department. This department keep 3 personnel on station from 7AM to 5PM Monday to Friday, excluding holidays. These are mainly people on the HTVFD that have jobs that allow them to stay on station. Currently David Dwyer is Fire Chief. Supported by Asst. Chief Mark Mcnalty. The department has 1 Rescue (R250), 1 Engine (E251), 2 Tankers (T252 & T255 (T252 is currently for sale)), and 1 Brush Truck (B253), a new brush truck is in the process of being purchased, this is be the new B253, current B253 will be a support vehicle numbered, S254. The department has approximately 25 members.
