According to the
United States Census Bureau , the village has a total area of 1.0square mile s (2.7km² ), of which, 0.9 square miles (2.5 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²) of it (7.77%) is water.Demographics
As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 381 people, 159 households, and 104 families residing in the village. Thepopulation density was 402.6 per square mile (154.8/km²). There were 188 housing units at an average density of 198.7/sq mi (76.4/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 95.28% White, 1.84% African American, 0.79% Native American, and 2.10% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.57% of the population.There were 159 households out of which 31.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.3% were married couples living together, 13.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.0% were non-families. 28.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 17.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.39 and the average family size was 2.90.
In the village the population was spread out with 28.6% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 23.6% from 25 to 44, 21.0% from 45 to 64, and 19.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 95.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 83.8 males.
