U.S. state ofMichigan . The population was 370 at the 2000 census.The village is located in Boyne Valley Township on the
Boyne River , near the junction of the north and south branches. US 131 connects the city with US 31 at Petoskey, about 14 miles to the north and M-32 about 7 miles to the south (which connects with I-75 at Gaylord, 13 miles to the east). Boyne City is about 8 miles to the northwest on M-75.Geography

United States Census Bureau , the village has a total area of 0.6square mile s (1.5km² ), of which, 0.6 square miles (1.4 km²) of it is land and 1.79% is water.Demographics
As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 370 people, 158 households, and 97 families residing in the village. Thepopulation density was 675.9 per square mile (259.7/km²). There were 190 housing units at an average density of 347.1/sq mi (133.4/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 97.84% White, 1.35% Native American, 0.27% Asian, and 0.54% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.27% of the population.There were 158 households out of which 31.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.3% were married couples living together, 10.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 38.0% were non-families. 32.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.34 and the average family size was 2.96.
In the village the population was spread out with 25.4% under the age of 18, 10.8% from 18 to 24, 34.1% from 25 to 44, 17.6% from 45 to 64, and 12.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 96.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 102.9 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $32,143, and the median income for a family was $40,250. Males had a median income of $34,167 versus $16,103 for females. The
per capita income for the village was $15,027. About 4.5% of families and 10.3% of the population were below thepoverty line , including 5.9% of those under age 18 and 17.9% of those age 65 or over.Local Events
Each August, Boyne Falls hosts the annual Boyne Falls Polish Festival. The festival features many events including a rodeo, 3 on 3 basketball tournament, parade, amusement rides, a flea market, and the Mud Run.
The Festival is always held the first weekend in August.
