York Regional Road 40

York Regional Road 40, locally known as Bloomington Road is an east-west thoroughfare that travels through the towns of Aurora, Richmond Hill, and Whitchurch-Stouffville, in York Region, Ontario, Canada.

Route Description

The York Regional Road designation begins east of Bathurst Street. West of this point, the road is named as "18th Sideroad", and is maintained by the Township of King. York Regional Road 40 serves as the boundary between Aurora and Richmond Hill. East of Highway 404, York Regional Road 40 runs through the town of Whitchurch-Stouffville. York Regional Road 40 ends at York - Durham Line, and continues east into Durham Region as Durham Highway 47. The road finally ends in Uxbridge, Ontario.

History

Bloomington Road was formerly Ontario King's Highway 47. This designation of a King's Highway is downloaded in 1997.
