He approached Tammareddy Bharadwaja and in the form of Pothe Poni (2005), he got his first break in the Telugu music industry. His music for Pothe Poni was succeeded by 10th Class (2006) and Notebook (2007) in the following years. Thereafter, he was signed by Sekhar Kammula for the film Happy Days, which was widely noticed and lauded and was considered as one of the best albums of the year.[3][4] Consequently, he was awarded the Best Music Director Award at the three major Telugu Film Awards (Filmfare Awards South, Nandi Awards and CineMAA Awards) for the film. Following this breakthrough album, he got the opportunities to compose the scores and songs for the Telugu films Hare Ram and Kotha Bangaru Lokam, which slowly established him in the Telugu film industry. Later he delivered two musical entertainers namely Leader and Marocharitra which proved his talent with well matured score.
