Controversy

Between the end of the 2006-2007 school year and October of 2007, Buckhannon-Upshur High School experienced three "code reds". A code red is a school lockdown, due to a potential threat to human life. The first was caused by a false 911 call made by Sophomore students, claiming that a teacher had been shot. The second two were instigated after 22 caliber shells were found in the building on two separate occasions. [ [http://www.wdtv.com/news/local/10511352.html Buckhannon Upshur High School Scare] ]

Alma Mater

Hail to thee, our Alma Mater,
Hail, our B-U High,
We attend with hearts of gladness,
All for thee we strive,

Lift our banner, speed it onward,br />Loud and free we cry,
Hail to thee, our Alma Mater
Hail our B-U High

"Hum first stanza, then repeat the chorus."
