Awards
Bencomo has been awarded several Fellowships and distinctions during his career. An Individual Artists Fellowship, Painting, Division of Cultural Affairs, State of Florida, 1992-1993. A Fellowship in Painting, Oscar B. Cintas Foundation, Institute of International Education, New York City, 1984-1985. The "Anthony, Capodilupo Fine Arts" Prize, Miami, Florida, in 1981. In 1987 he obtained the "Adquisition Prize, Second Florida Biennial Exhibition", Polk Museum of Art, Lakeland, Florida. He was also awarded a prize in the " 39th Annual All Florida Exhibition", Boca Museum, Boca Raton, Florida , in 1989.
