Ignacio made his professional debuts for hometown
CD Logroñes . Upon its relegation in 1994-95, he joined "La Liga " powerhouseValencia CF , helping with 27 matches to a final runner-up place.In 1997, Ignacio moved to
Real Zaragoza , where he would play five seasons. In 2000-01, he netted a career-best 6 goals, including one in anApril 14 ,2001 thriller atFC Barcelona (4-4), as Zaragoza barely avoided relegation (17th), which would eventually befall the next year.Ignacio joined
Real Club Celta de Vigo for 2002-03, appearing in 33 league contests as the Galician outfit achieved aUEFA Champions League berth. However, it would also be relegated the following season.Upon retiring in 2005, he rejoined first team Logroñes, as a technical director.
International career
Ignacio received two caps for Spain during 2001: the first came in the 2002 World Cup qualifiers, against Liechtenstein, on
