Life and career
The son of Cuban immigrants, and the youngest of 4 siblings, Marco Sanchez was raised in Palm Desert, California. Having studied theater throughout junior high and high school, he entered the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television in 1988. In the summer of 1989, he studied acting at the British-American Drama Academy in Oxford, England, and graduated with a B.A. in theater from UCLA in 1992. A year before, he co-founded Buffalo Nights Theater Company which has consistently produced vibrant theater in Los Angeles for over 15 years.
His television work includes series regular roles on Steven Spielberg's seaQuest DSV, and Walker, Texas Ranger, as well as numerous guest star appearances on shows such as 24, Desperate Housewives, ER, The Mentalist and most recently recurring as "Alejandro Rivera" on NCIS.
His film performances include Showtime's The Last Debate (directed by John Badham), Illusion (written and directed by Michael Goorjian), The Rookie (with Dennis Quaid), and Edison (with Kevin Spacey and Morgan Freeman). He appeared in Super 8 (directed by J.J. Abrams and produced by Steven Spielberg).
In 2006, Marco co-founded Lyceum Films with actor/director and fellow Buffalo Nights member Michael Goorjian, and Muse Media Center founder Noah Veneklasen. Marco’s producing credits with Lyceum include: Players' Club (which swept the 2006 Elevate Film Festival), 5 Wishes, The War Prayer (for which he also wrote the adapted screenplay), and The Shift.
Marco currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and daughter.
