In 1924, Findlay was selected to the U.S. soccer team which competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics. He played in both U.S. games, a win over Estonia followed by a second round loss to Uruguay. Findlay did not play with the U.S. again until the 1928 Summer Olympics. At that tournament, the U.S. lost its first game to Argentina. Findlay began his career with Scottish club
Third Lanark A.C. before moving to the United States. In 1928, he signed with the New York Nationals of theAmerican Soccer League . He also spent the 1930 fall season with theBrooklyn Wanderers .
